Kayak and Canoe Adventures
Join us for a casual drift along the local rivers.  Learn to maneuver your way along the water in 5 - 8 mile voyages along flat and calm waters along the Breton Bay in Southern, Maryland.  Kayak instruction/equipment, lunch, and wine tasting at the Leonardtown Winery is included.

 

Cost is $79 for Kayak, Lunch, and Wine

Overnight Kayak and Camping Adventure

Join us for a weekend water adventure along the northern branch of the Patuxent River.  This getaway features a camping and kayak experience for one or two nights along the river near Upper Marlboro, MD.  We’ll explore the local marshes and wildlife along the hidden creeks in the area and overnight at a private campsite. 

 

General Itinerary:

Friday: The journey begins on Friday afternoon as we launch from the Upper Marlboro area and traverse the river for 3 miles to our private campsite on the hill.  You will need to provide your own kayak for this starting point.

Saturday: For those onsite at the campsite, continue the journey to explore the nearby waterways and creeks.  You may also start your journey on this day (a limited number of kayaks will be provided for this one-night option).  We will depart in the morning to arrive at the campsite by noon.  The afternoon is open to explore more nearby waterways or relax at the campsite.

Sunday: Pack up camp and head back to the launch area after breakfast.

 

Date: Friday, June 21 – Sunday, June 23

 

Time: The two-night option departs from the launch area on Friday afternoon at 3PM.  The one-night option departs on Saturday morning from the launch area at 10AM.  Everyone departs the campsite by 11AM on Sunday to return to the launch.

 

Cost: $89 per person or Early-bird discount price of $79 if registered by April 15. 

 

Other Information:

A list of equipment, supplies, and suggested food options will be provided.  You must have your own kayak to participate in the two-night program, departing on Friday afternoon.  A limited number of kayaks will be available for the one-night option for a Saturday launch.

 

 

This inaugural Mahogany RiverFest program marks the beginning of an annual flotilla program to explore the waterways of the DMV area with camping and kayak or canoeing options based on the program.  Join us for this unique outdoor experience and journey!
